There's a special magic about walking through the gates of Villa Giustiniani-Tonon in Busco last Sunday. The Veneto countryside stretches out all around, quiet and slightly hazy in the autumn air. The location is secluded, true, but it's precisely this isolation that gives the atmosphere a sense of timelessness, far removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
And then there's the Villa itself. A jewel of history that speaks of centuries of illustrious families like the Giustinianis, and changes of ownership that have enriched its charm. Discovering its history means delving into a past of majestic architecture and ancient splendor.
But the beating heart of that Sunday wasn't in the frescoed halls, but rather above. We were welcomed into the attic, the space beneath the roofs, normally hidden and secret. And here the magic happened: among exposed wooden beams, the patina of time on the walls, and the light filtering through the windows, we brought our little market to life.
That rustic yet striking place, so intimate and full of character, was filled with voices, colors, and those small artisanal things that tell stories. It was like attending a special event in a place that normally guards its silence.
A huge thank you to everyone who came to visit us, making the journey through this enchanting countryside. And a heartfelt thank you goes to my friend, my companion on adventures in the attic and in life. Without her support and cheerfulness, even organizing an event in such a unique place wouldn't have had the same pure joy. With her, every effort turns into a fun memory to cherish.
Thank you all for making this Sunday at the villa unforgettable.
